Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Engineering Equipment Operator. Duties

-Operates, maintains and services heavy and other engineering and mobile power equipment. -Safely maneuvers equipment over and around a variety of surface conditions (e.g., unpaved, rough, uneven terrain; steep slopes, hills; obstacles, congested areas) and in various weather conditions. -Uses common hand and power tools to service and effect minor repairs to equipment. -Performs work in support of grounds and facilities maintenance activities. -Operates light and heavy equipment for the majority of the time, to include a road grader; rubber-tired, front-end loader (up to 5 cubic yards); rubber-tired backhoe with attachments; road dump truck; 20 yard side dump truck; farm tractor with various implements (blade, disk, harrow, and drill); crawler tractor with front-angle dozer blade or a cable operated blade, up to Caterpillar D-8 or other manufacturers (dither, land plane, and sheepfoot); hydraulic excavator, rubber-tired and tracked (up to 2 cubic trash rake-type backhoe mounted on rails at a pumping plant; rubber-track snow-cat, forklift, a tractor/lowboy trailer combination up to 110,000 pounds, Boom Truck-Fixed Cab, and Telescopic Boom Crane-Swing Cab. -Transports, loads, secures, and tows a utility low-boy type equipment-transport trailer. -Moves earth on steep slopes, rocky and soft ground. Grades surfaces; compacts and rolls to specifications. -Performs basic maintenance and adjustments on all equipment operated. -Performs operations and maintenance work of a lesser skill. May work independently or as part of a work crew. -Applies herbicides as needed.

You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, valid State Driver License, a current and valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and a current and valid National Commission Certified Crane Operator (NCCCO) certification or equivalent. Failure to provide proof of such license will cause you to be rated ineligible for this position. Physical Effort The work requires manual dexterity, including pulling and pushing with both hands and pushing of pedals individually requiring use of both feet. Duties require extended periods of walking, stooping, bending, and climbing on and off equipment. Some assignments involve moving or lifting materials, equipment, and containers weighing from 45 to 95 pounds. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed outside in all types of weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, ice). Project assignments are performed on unpaved surfaces, irregular ground, steep slopes, and hazards such as brush, thickets, and traffic. Work involves regular exposure to dirt, dust, grease, fumes, vibration, and the possibility of broken bones, cuts, and bruises due to equipment overturning. Noise control and other protective clothing and equipment are often required. Performs some driving and outside work under heavy rain, snow, and ice conditions. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 10/18/2023.
