You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER in the SECURITY MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of COMOPTEVFOR.
Duties
You will evaluate the effectiveness of the policies and procedures for protection, use, and dissemination of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and information classified at lower levels.
You will manage all aspects of security, including physical, personnel (military, civilian, and contractor support), and information security.
You will administer the receipt, control, and accountability of SCI and manage SCI security functions within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
You will maintain SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to ensure secure operations within the office.
You will conduct security training to ensure the Command's awareness and compliance with the latest security requirements.
You will ensure the proper control, transmission, storage, and other security requirements for the handling of classified materials.
You will evaluate current command security programs and policies and provide recommendations for areas of improvement.
You will perform other security duties and functions s assigned.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Security Officer specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following:
1) Providing security management, training, administrative expertise and the coordination of security policies and procedures in support of programs.
2) Evaluating and resolving security issues within non-routine situations and managing a security program for control of classified material.
3) Pre-screening interviews for all new civilian hires and administering programs for the continuous security evaluation of personnel, facilities and operations.
4) Notifying higher authorities of personnel conducting foreign travel and association with foreign contacts.
5) Preparing Security Access Eligibility Reports (SAERs) and supplemental documentation for review by supervisor and Command leadership and submits to DONCAF following approval.
6) Ensuring physical security for command spaces, including fixed facility checklists, locks, security procedures and random inspection procedures.
7) Conducting sensitive compartmented information (SCI) training, education in security awareness and indoctrination/debriefings.
