About the Position: Serve as a Custodial Worker performing a variety of custodial duties in a variety of shop, operating equipment, and administrative spaces. Primarally the Duluth Project Office, Visitor Center, Vessel Yard as well as other facility assets.
Duties
Maintains orderly and clean work area.
Vacuums carpets and rugs, sweeps and mops floors, strips and waxes floors.
Dusts, cleans, and disinfects surfaces.
Cleans and disinfects restrooms.
Utilizes common tools and equipment such as ladders, buckets, squeegees, vacuums, cleaning solutions, polishing compounds, etc. in performance of cleaning duties.
Collects and disposes of trash and litter.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Subject to a pre-employment and annual physical.
- Heavy Lifting requirement - must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials up to 40 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker~ without more than normal supervision. cleaning restrooms; replacing paper products, and replenishing soap and hand sanitizer as required; vacuuming and sweeping floors; emptying trash bins. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Move and control heavy cleaning equipment, carries and sets up ladders, and works from ladders and scaffolding. Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing about 40 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works indoors most of the time and outdoors occasionally. Exposed to conditions inherent in cleaning tasks described, such as chapped hands or other irritation from working with strong cleaning agents. Possibility exists for serious disabling injury because of hazards inherent in equipment and shop spaces, from electrical shock while using powered cleaning equipment, or from falling from ladders or heights. Work is occasionally performed in hot areas that regularly exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit and may reach 130 degrees Fahrenheit, or in noisy areas exceeding 95 decibels.
