You will serve as a Secretary (OA) in the Commanding Officer's staff of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.

Duties

You will recommend changes in administrative policies to eliminate conflicts and duplication, clarify confusing guidelines, devises office procedures and practices to be used by secretaries in subordinate offices. You will maintain the daily calendar of the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer and Executive Director. You will establish priorities, set up, reschedule, or refuses appointments, accepts or declines invitations to meetings, and arranges for representation by a substitute official when necessary. You will receive and screen visitors and phone calls from higher organizational levels, other agencies, or important public interests. You will make travel arrangements based on general travel intentions, known preferences of traveler and in accordance with appropriate travel regulations. You will compose non-technical correspondence on topics such as office procedures, requests for information, and the handling of Congressional or other sensitive matters based on knowledge of unwritten policies, precedents, and practices.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Secretary (Office Automation) specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing Secretary work by applying knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures, concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to independently perform a broad range of planning, administrative, and technical executive-level support tasks. I have experience utilizing a knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) Supply Commands, the mission of supported activities, the organizational functions and structure of a command, military and civilian protocols, as well as a substantive knowledge of command policies, procedures and objectives, including the commander's personal desires, in order to discern administrative issues needing immediate attention and taking appropriate action to resolve those issues. Experience must include a knowledge of various support duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals to provide executive level secretarial, communication, and administrative support, while interacting with senior members, advisors, managers, and other personnel. Examples of 1) Acting as the primary liaison for all managerial, administrative, planning, and technical concerns; 2) Maintaining executive-level calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel and meetings including site requirements, agenda, and visual aids; 3) Reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence, and ensuring outgoing correspondence includes proper formatting, spelling, sentence structure, conformance with general policy, and factual information; and 4) Using automated office information software, specifically Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the Defense Travel System. GS-08 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Secretary (Office Automation) specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing Secretary Work by applying a basic knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures, concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to perform a broad range of planning, administrative, and technical executive-level support tasks. I have experience utilizing a knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) Supply Commands, the mission of supported activities, the organizational functions and structure of a command, as well as a substantive knowledge of command policies and procedures, including the commander's personal desires, in order to discern administrative issues needing immediate attention and taking appropriate action to resolve those issues. Experience must include a knowledge of various support duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals to provide executive level secretarial, communication, and administrative support while interacting with managers, and other personnel in order to perform the following duties: 1) Assisting with liaison for all managerial, administrative, planning, and technical concerns; 2) Maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel 3) Reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence, and ensuring outgoing correspondence includes proper formatting, spelling and sentence structure; and 4) Using automated office information software, specifically Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the Defense Travel System; the skill of a qualified typist is required.
