The selectee of this position serves as a IT Specialist (Network Services) responsible for analyzing, installing, configuring, testing, conducting quality assurance reviews, and implementing network systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. This position is in direct support of the HQ Operations Division. This position is located in the Information Technology Division / Arlington, Virginia.

Duties

As a IT Specialist (Network Services) at the GS-2210-13 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Analyze, install, configure, test, and conduct quality assurance reviews. Monitor network capacity and performance and workload. Implement network systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Ensure rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services. Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret - Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
• This is a Testing Designated Positions (TDP) and is subject to random drug testing.
• May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
• Status Candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
• Applicants must meet all qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
• Travel both domestically and internationally as required.
• Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, hauling, climbing, work in closely confined spaces and other strenuous physical activities in all types of environmental conditions.
• This position requires the incumbent to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

Qualifications

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion and Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Status applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Analyzing current network requirements, architecture, and infrastructures to make recommendations to senior management; Managing all installations, testing, and upgrading regarding components consistent with network architecture; Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, firewalls and/or switches to ensure efficient performance and security; Assisting with developing network backups and recovery procedures for an organization; and Monitoring network capacity, performance, and workload to identify and resolve network problems.
