You will serve as a OFFICE AUTOMATION CLERK in the SHIPYARD DIVISION OF INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE DEPARTMENT, PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES DIRECTORATE of NMRTC PORTSMOUTH VA.
Duties
You will create, copy, edit, retrieve, save and print a wide range of documents.
You will input industrial hygiene and administrative data into computerized database management systems.
You will maintain office files which includes routine correspondence and industrial hygiene documents.
You will answer telephones and refer callers to proper individuals.
You will maintain and replenish all administrative office supplies.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience. General experience must demonstrate the following:
progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Two years above the high school grade level and education must be obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combination of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
