THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a READINESS TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D1094000 and is part of the CO 193RD MP BN, 101st Army Band, Colorado Army National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to represent the commander in day-to-day operations.

Duties

Advises the commander on training, logistics, personnel and unit mobilization readiness requirements and ensures the unit develops, updates, and maintains comprehensive mobilization plans. Serves as primary point of contact for input into the unit readiness reports. Manages the military school program of the unit. Prepares and/or reviews training directives, individual training records, operation orders, mobilization plans, SOP's, and readiness reports. Forecasts, allocates, and monitors the usage of training ammunition for the unit. As directed, ensures the armory is properly cared for, safeguarded and the process for rental of the facility is handled in accordance with governing directives. Maintains working relationships with local officials, clubs, etc., for a variety of purposes such as, armory security coordination with police, suitability investigations, armory rental, unit participation in celebrations; or, fund raising drives, emergency operations and homeland security, and to provide public information about the National Guard. Coordinates the recruiting and retention efforts of the unit with full time Recruiting and Retention personnel. In the absence of assigned janitorial staff works with other assigned full time support personnel, to care for, clean, and maintain the National Guard Armory to include lawn care and general maintenance. Provides day-to-day supervision for AGR soldiers and dual status technicians. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • Membership in the Colorado Army National Guard.
  • Must hold the grade of E-5 or E-6.
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-5 or E-6 Please advise: 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicants RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. 4. If education or a degree is required as part of the "Specialized Experience", you must include transcripts. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. 2. Experience that provided a thorough knowledge of administrative functions. 3. Experience utilizing research tools. 4. Experience providing guidance and setting priorities.

Education

Substitution of Education for specialized experience - Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
