You will serve as a A/C LAUNCHING & ARRESTING DEVICES REPAIRER in the Voyage Repair Team, Fleet Readiness Center of FLTREADCEN DET MID ATLANTIC PAX RIVER.

Duties

You will perform inspections and maintenance on shipboard and shore-based catapult, arresting gear and visual landing aids. You will install service changes, repairs and aligns pumps, performs hydrostatic tests on valves, hydraulic cylinders, heat exchangers and pneumatic components. You will perform test operations on machinery and alter equipment to provide access or permit observation during tests or experiments. You will perform and assist with various jobs on engines, lathes, milling machines, drill press, boring mills and other machinery associated with inside machine shop work and equipment.

Requirements

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Inspecting and maintaining shipboard and shore-based catapult, arresting gear, and visual landing aids; 2) Performing test operations on machinery and altering equipment to provide access or permit observation during tests or experiments; 3) Installing and repairing various regulating controls and safety devices such as meters, safety valves and automatic alarms; 4) Installing service changes, repairs and aligns pumps, performs hydrostatic tests on valves, hydraulic cylinders, heat exchangers and pneumatic components; and 5) Utilizing shop sketches, job orders, diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturers' specifications to perform work.
