About the position: This position will be assigned to the Food and Beverage outlets within 28 FSS.
This position is considered regular full time. You are guaranteed 35 hours, however, could work up to 40 hours.
As a regular employee you are eligible to earn leave and other NAF Benefits.
Duties
Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of all food and beverage outlets within 28 FSS facilities and activities within the Community Services Flight.
May be asked to fill in for the Chef in his/her absence.
Establishes, reviews and evaluates menu planning, food services, food inventory control and POS software associated with food services.
Prepares budge, analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial posture of all 28 FSS food and beverage establishments.
Responsible for work force management, recruitment and staff training.
Ensures all food safety and health requirements are maintained and practiced.
Coordinates special food and beverage events with senior military and civilian leadership and local, state and federal officials.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have at minimum, 5-year experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions in food and beverage management.
A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination of hospitality, culinary, restaurant, club management, or business management may be substituted for general experience.
Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience, applicant must at have at least (1) year of specialized experience at the current grad of NF-IV or equivalent.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
