This Intelligence Research Specialist (Inspector) position is located in Inspection Division, Office of Security Programs, Analytical & Liaison Unit (ISTA) in Arlington, Virginia and is a 36-month rotational assignment.
Primary responsibilities of the incumbent include but are not limited to:
Conducts broad research, studies, analyses, and assessments of critical assets and human behaviors to identify possible insider threats;
Briefs section and departmental management on methods, processes, and analytics used to establish behavioral baselines;
Evaluates insider threat inquiries to make determinations of as to whether DEA personnel pose a threat to the organization;
Organizes, analyzes, and correlates information and intelligence from multiple sources;
Develops insider threat inquiry plans predicted on insider threat reporting or information indicating potential threats;
Makes recommendations to DEA management to improve the insider threat detection program's operational effectiveness.
May be required to testify during career as an Intelligence Research Specialist.

- Successful completion of a one-year supervisory probationary period is required (unless already completed)
- Successful completion of the mandatory Basic Intelligence Research Specialist Training Course.
- The assignment for this position will be limited to serve for a period of 36 months/3 years.
Qualifications
GS-14: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 Federal grade level performing such duties as providing direction and leadership to a multi-agency staff engaged in the collection, analysis, evaluation, production, and dissemination of drug law enforcement intelligence in support of drug law enforcement activities; and performing preliminary research, analysis and evaluation of raw intelligence data for segments of large research projects and studies.
