This Intelligence Research Specialist (Inspector) position is located in the Inspection Division, Office of Professional Responsibility, Professional Responsibility Team D (OPRD) in Plantation, FL and is a 36-month rotational assignment. Among other duties, the incumbent will: Directs or participates in inspections to determine compliance with laws, regulations, and policies and procedures and makes recommendations to high-level management officials. Conducts complex multi-faceted civil, criminal, and corruption investigations based on complaints or information indicating possible criminal acts or violations of rules of conduct or other impropriety on the part of employees and analyzes findings. Testifies in criminal or administrative proceedings regarding OPR investigations. Translates verbal briefings into detailed written reports enabling senior-level management to make decisions regarding the degree of culpability on behalf of DEA employees under investigation. May be required to testify during career as an Intelligence Research Specialist.

• Successful completion of a one-year supervisory probationary period is required (unless already completed)
• Successful completion of the mandatory Basic Intelligence Research Specialist Training Course.
• The assignment for this position will be limited to serve for a period of 36 months/3 years.

Qualifications

GS-14: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 Federal grade level performing such duties as providing direction and leadership to a multi-agency staff engaged in the collection, analysis, evaluation, production, and dissemination of drug law enforcement intelligence in support of drug law enforcement activities; and performing preliminary research, analysis and evaluation of raw intelligence data for segments of large research projects and studies.
