About the Position: Incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Classroom Services supervisor within the G4, Logistics Division at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Works independently managing, developing, and modifying inventory of multi-volume copies of geographic data, and providing mapping distribution to Combined Arms Center (CAC) directorates while safeguarding Geographic Information System (GIS) property.
Duties
This list of duties/responsibilities is not all-inclusive:
Provide information on mapping distribution to staff and faculty while safeguarding Geographic Information System (GIS) property. Modify and develop inventory of multi-volume copies of geographic data.
Experience with NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) disclose and release policies. Maintain the use of security classification methods and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information.
Conduct online searches in an electronic interlibrary loan system or electronic resources for locating materials, and participates in surveys and related projects which foster the use of the library.
Maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, to ensure smooth acquisition/distribution of material and researches publishing sources for updates and new editions.
Develop Loan digital and hard copy geospatial information in support of Army University curriculum. Enter data in automated databases to reserve library materials, registration files, and inventories.
Utilize standard office software, complex automated office systems and applications specific to library technology. Maintains working knowledge of all audiovisual, photocopier and microfilm equipment.
Conduct research to keep current regulation, policies and procedures regarding disclose and release of geospatial data/information. Must obtain approval from NGA Rep for all maps that are ordered, issued or printed.
Manage geospatial operating policies, circulation procedures and basic operation of user-access equipment such as NIPRNET, BCNET, and CPOF.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the selectee to pass a pre-employment physical and annual physicals after appointment.
- The work of this position requires lifting of moderately heavy items from two to 80 pounds.
- Incumbent will be responsible for assisting with snow removal as necessary by using a variety of snow removal equipment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing automated computer systems and programs (including online library catalogs and electronic databases), managing inventory, locating information and assisting customers with routine inquiries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You MUST submit copies of ALL your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
