This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Administrative Support Specialist you will be responsible for planning, programming, and following through to completion administrative/program support assignments.
Duties
As a Administrative Support Specialist GS-0301-5/7/9, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Collect and compile program data, generating reports and presentations as required.
Support data quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of program information.
Respond to inquiries from stakeholders, providing information, clarification, and support as needed.
Conduct and completes program evaluations and assessments, including for accreditation bodies.
Identify areas for program improvement and propose recommendations to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
Provide administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting meeting minutes.
Gather background material, files, and reports needed to respond to incoming requests for information.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.
GS-05
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, general experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to: 1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) Plan and organize work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing. -OR-
EDUCATION: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meeting the GS-5 level requirements for this position. -OR-
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of post-high school education and general experience when combined together meets 100% of the total requirements for the position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the general experience requirement.
GS-07
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. One year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Examples include: Providing administrative assistance; responding to inquiries, providing information, clarification, and support as needed; collecting and compiling program data; gathering background material, files, and reports needed to respond to incoming requests; ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of program information. -OR-
EDUCATION: Successfully completed one full year of appropriate graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of this position -or- Superior Academic Achievement which included one of the following: 1) Class standing-applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class, based on completed courses; or (2) Grade-Point Average-applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (3) Election to membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society -membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. In order to be creditable under this provision, superior academic achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. -OR-
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combination of graduate level education and specialized experience when combined together meets 100% of the total requirements for the position. To compute, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.
GS-09
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. One year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Examples include: Providing administrative assistance; responding to inquiries, providing information, clarification, and support as needed; collecting and compiling program data; gathering background material, files, and reports needed to respond to incoming requests; ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of program information; conducting program evaluations and assessments; identifying areas for program improvement. -OR-
EDUCATION: Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. -OR-
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combination of graduate level education and specialized experience when combined together meets 100% of the total requirements for the position.
