Duties
You will perform the myriad of duties associated with instructing and building Precision Weapons.
You must be able to build a M1911A1 National Match Pistol, M1911A1 MEU(SOC) 45 Cal Pistol and the M9 Beretta 9mm National Match pistols.
You will set up the Ransom Test with the appropriate weapons systems.
You will open all serialized equipment prior to issuing the gear to the students and will maintain Shop Repair Orders (SRO) throughout the build process.
You will initiate the appropriate action for repairs, maintenance work, or modifications beyond the organizational level of maintenance.
You will inspect small arms to ensure compliance with established safety regulations/specifications, prior to and subsequent to test firing.
You may be required to drive a 1-1/4 ton truck to haul test equipment, small arms, and ammunition to and from range test sites.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- Required to posses and maintain a government driver's license at all times. Government driver's license training provided by the government.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: instruct gunsmith curriculum, build custom precision weapons for competition and tactical shooting environments, teach weapon system cycle of operation, theory of function, and ballistic theory, and perform research and development, testing, evaluation and production of small arms components.
