You will serve as an Operations Research Analyst in the MRO Logistics Department, Industrial Logistics Division, of FLTREADCEN EAST. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will perform Industrial Logistics Support Throughput Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) to assigned production customers. You will lead derivative performance improvement efforts from findings and collaborate with other industrial logistics personnel/teams on logistic elements barrier solutions from analysis provided. You will be responsible for technical and statistical analysis related to evaluating operations, products, processes and services. You will initiate, design, conduct, monitor, and evaluate qualitative and quantitative studies and analyses. You will use statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other methods to analyze information and develop practical solutions and courses of action to resolve the problems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying and solving problems in all areas of business and logistics operations; 2) Utilizing computer programming languages and applicable operations systems to design and develop new techniques and models using methods such as forecasting, data mining and statistical analysis; 3) Applying a wide range of complex analytical, mathematical and statistical principles and practices sufficient to perform the full range of specialized duties including knowledge of and skill in analyzing data using probability statistics and trend analysis; and 4) Demonstrating Knowledge of life-cycle logistics as it pertains to an aircraft, engines, components and industrial processes product lines. Basic Requirements:

Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

Foreign Education: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
