Duties
You will conduct classroom studies and instruction on practical use of law enforcement equipment and techniques.
You will provide instruction in Firearms Safety and conducts the Weapons Qualification in compliance with OPNAV instructions.
You will analyze individual officer and organizational performance issues, identify probable causes of deficiencies, and design Sustainment Training courses to correct deficiencies.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must have reached your 21st birthday prior to appointment.
- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-8 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Serving organization as the Resident Subject Matter Expert (SME) of professional instructional methods and theories used in a normal Police Office Training environment. 2. Planning lessons, analyzing statistical data, and meeting overall training objectives. 3. Counseling law enforcement students regarding area of training where
