About the position: This position will be assigned to the Force Support Squadron Non-Appropriated Fund Resource Management Flight-IT at Hanscom AFB, MA.
This position is a regular, part-time position. Minimum guaranteed hours per week- 20 hours but may work up to 40 hours per week as mission requires. Full benefits package.
May be required to work evening, weekends or holidays per mission requirements.
Duties
Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, word processing, electronic mail, web browsers, and operating systems. Exclude network administrators. Performs major diagnostics and troubleshooting on personal computers and all related equipment, including software, modems, printers, color/monochrome monitors, tape backup units, and memory expansion. Trains staff in the use of COTS computer software and all network system applications. Installs and configures PC, local area network operating systems, and network application software as needed. Provides customer and technical support through analysis and problem solving to facilitate installation, implementation, maintenance, education, and documentation of a variety of technologies. Provides the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software. Provides plans, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the systems environment in support of the organizational IT architecture and business needs. Provides configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Provides planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. Provides customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements.

Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge skills and abilities to provide expertise, centralized management and program support. Ability to perform tests, troubleshoot and correct program discrepancies. Able to prepare recommendations and reports on computer techniques and programs. Must complete A+ certification within 6 months of hire.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
