Duties

Assists with a variety of property management activities including accountability, tracking, maintaining records, and excessing property. Establishes and maintains files to control receipt of inventory items; verifies invoices for payment, and completes receiving documents. Responsible for inputting mileage and days used, verifying and tracking maintenance, and coordinating fleet activities. Coordinates with property custodial officer, prepares documentation, and lists property ensuring disposal is following all guidelines. Purchases supplies and services.

Qualifications

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. GS-6: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5 level. Examples of specialized experience may include working with a fleet and/or property program, maintaining vehicles of use, working with an automated inventory system, or an automated purchasing system. Working in a ware yard, ordering, tracking and/or inventory of supplies. OR Successful completion of one full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position; OR A combination of experience and education to meet total experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands/Work Environments: Work is in both an office setting as well as in a ware yard. Work requires long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven surfaces; and crouching, stooping and bending. May be required to operate a variety of equipment and vehicles. May exert physical effort related to actions such as lifting up to 10 pounds. Work while in the office is performed in adequately lighted, ventilated, cooled and heated area. Outdoor work is subject to cuts and bruises, and scrapes.

Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-6 and 7.
