This position is in the Air Traffic Organization, Safety and Technical Training Service Unit, Strategic Outreach Directorate, Standardization Group, AJI-4100. This Group is responsible for long- term strategic and program planning, evaluating requirements and analyzing and adapting to the changing management needs of Safety and Technical Training.

Duties

The Program Manager applies detailed knowledge of a wide variety of complex administrative and support programs to manage and direct a geographically dispersed subordinate staff and ad hoc multidisciplinary teams responsible for developing acquisition and strategic policies and procedures for AJI programs and projects. Applies experience managing complex, high value contracts, such as is typically documented through the possession of a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Certification, to engage in the planning and/or source selection stages of the procurement process. This work is critical to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and AJI operational programs that transform and sustain the National Airspace System (NAS) and that directly impact the safe and efficient operation of the ATO.

Requirements

Qualifications

Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (FV-J or FG/GS-14) that is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE NEXT LOWER LEVEL (GS-14/FV-J):Experience performing program management activities to manage contracts and monitors contractor performance and assists with quality assurance.Experience in cost/benefit analysis, and business case development, and to plan and prepare acquisition strategies.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
