This position is with the Branch of General Services at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, NM. The primary purpose of this position is the responsibility for planning, development, organization and evaluation of all services provided by the General Services Branch. Responsible for assigning, scheduling, directing, and reviewing the work activities of the General Services employees engaged in clerical, materials, warehouse, supply, equipment and mail management.

Duties

Responsible for the overall Supervision, planning and implementing, directing, and coordinating of the processes of all aspects of the service unit property management, general supply management, medical supply management, mail management, materials management, GSA vehicle fleet management, forms/records management, and warehouse management. Responsible for implementing and maintaining sound procedures for the receipt, verification, storage, distribution, utilization, inventory, disposal and accountability of all personal and real property, supplies, and services; motor vehicle fleet management; forms/records management, mail management; prepares routine or special reports related to General Services operations. Provides technical guidance in resolving discrepancies for goods received and assures Gallup Service Unit Receiving Reports are processed in accordance with established procedures. Facilitates resolution processes regarding discrepancies between vendors and service unit staff and Area Office staff. Directs and ensures appropriate and optimal utilization of available storage space; scheduled rotation of inventory of warehouse stock items; proper stocking and storage techniques (i.e., First in, First Out), issuance and distribution and replenishment of various supplies, including forms management; and insures adequate level of all stocked items. Must meet the support service requirements, storage needs, inventory and control of supplies and equipment. etc., are compounded and complex due the diversity of the needs of a major general and surgical medical facility. The requirements consist of medical and surgical supplies, capital and noncapital equipment and real property for diverse health care related programs such as: dental, radiology, laboratory, nutrition/dietetics, administrative, facility management, housekeeping, clinical, physical therapy, community/patient health education, etc. Directs the establishment and maintenance of equipment replacement and additional equipment program for the service unit Responsible for maintenance and repair of office machines, including establishing and managing service contracts for such preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the : Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Directing and managing the property and supply program; Experience in exchanging cart supply replenishment system for all medical-surgical nursing units; Experience in assuming responsibility for the annual budget preparation for the supply program; Experience in implementing procedures, policy and guidelines designed for effective and efficient management control; Experience in assigning subordinates schedules, priorities, and counseling. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
