About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Training Support Center, Live Training Directorate, at Fort Eustis, Virginia. The US Army Training Support Center (ATSC) is assigned to the Combined Arms Center- Training directly supporting the Combined Arms Center and Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) core missions. ATSC serves as the Army's premier training support planner, researcher, integrator, and service provider.
Duties
Develops and executes formal instructions including countermeasures tactics, techniques, and procedures in analyzing and resolving diverse, critical high safety risk hazards and dangerous materials.
Conducts periodic inspections Army wide in conjunction with Department of the Army Range Safety as appropriate.
Manages the development and implementation of the Army portion of training safety programs to train safety and occupational professional and range personnel in range safety and range operations.
Serves on Interservice Range Safety Working Group providing technical guidance in development of Range Safety Policies.
Provides technical range safety guidance and assistance to installations and SRP missions on an as-requested basis.
Manages the development, coordination (internally and externally), and implementation of the Army Range Safety Training Program.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing technical guidance and assistance on matters pertaining to range safety issues; 2) managing a range safety program; and 3) providing range safety training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
