This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.
The incumbent of this position serves as an Information Technology Specialist for computers and telecommunications for the Information Technology (IT) Department at the Lower Brule Health Center, Lower Brule, SD. The incumbent is responsible for administrative and technical support along with duties associated with the management of computer systems and applications and data telecommunications.
Duties
Maintains the RPMS, Windows Operating System, and Personal Computers (PC) systems.
Provide technical assistance to the Health Information Management Coordinator and other ADP system users with requested.
Assists with maintaining the data communications network within the Indian Health Service for the Lower Brule Service Unit.
Training of staff in the technical procedures required to operate and maintain functional telecommunications systems.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: coordinating computer system operations and providing recommendations on system operating procedures, data collection, data quality, and equipment environments. Assisting with the installation of new Automated Data Processing (ADP) technology. Transporting ADP equipment to and from vendor locations for repairs. Providing technical assistance to telecommunications system users when requested. OR, a master's degree OR, completed 2 years of graduate education leading to a master's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Installation of Automated Data Processing (ADP) technology equipment and systems and assuring maximum benefit from managing the system properly. Preparing operational guidelines for new software applications for implementation or testing. Providing evaluation of budget requirements for ADP systems. OR, a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR, completed 3 years of graduate education leading to a Ph.D. from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
