Additional Conditions of Employment: Pass drug screening and subject to random drug test. Must display and maintain required proficiency with firearms. Take and pass a medical examination and meet medical requirements. Must take and successfully complete a polygraph examination. To qualify for the GS-13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. GS-13 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Experience in criminal investigative training and as a law enforcement officer, and Provide technical guidance in criminal investigative activities, techniques, procedures, and policies, and Applying a wide range of criminal investigative, enforcement and/or compliance principles, concepts, techniques, rules of criminal procedures, laws, and precedent court decisions concerning the admissibility of evidence, constitutional rights, search and seizure issues, and Providing testimony before the grand jury, criminal courts and judges regarding various types of criminal activities; and preparing comprehensive investigative case reports, and Performing interviews using interviewing techniques in order to interrogate suspects and witnesses. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
