About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin Golf Course.
Must be physically able to frequently life, handle and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally, with assistance, objects weighing up to and over 50 pounds.
Duties
Performs repairs to golf carts that can be accomplished by cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing parts or components and systems, such as fouled spark plugs, laky wheels cylinders, corroded mufflers, and worn brake shoes. Determines when various parts should be cleaned and/or replaced; exercises a knowledge of such processes. Conducts annual preventative maintenance of golf cart fleet. Assists in maintaining inventory and keeps track of maintenance done on each piece of equipment and the cost.
When workload or situations demands locate worn, dirty, or poorly adjusted parts through visual check or use of a small variety of test equipment, for example, timing lights, feeler gauges, and circuit testers. Competes needed repairs including settings and adjustments such as gaping spark plugs, setting engine idle, and turning and adjusting brakes. Uses a variety of common hand tools, such as wrenches, pliers, brake tools, ignition tools, screwdrivers, ect. Keeps shop in orderly condition. Cleans shop as required.
May perform incidental cleaning and painting tasks, such as using handbrush to paint the inside of the battery compartment with acid-resistant paint and painting the outside of motor armatures.
Ensures driving rang has sufficient range balls at all times and the range is prepared for customers use in accordance with the standards set by Golf Course Manager.
Inspects Recreation Aides daily Golf Cart checklist and reports discrepancies to Assistant Golf Course Manager. Assures proper number of golf carts are staged for customer use at all times while on duty.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline powered engines. This experience must have provided a thorough knowledge of and the ability to remove, replace, clean, and install parts, components, and accessories; determine when parts should be cleaned and reinstalled or replaced; basic understanding of electricity and hydraulics and the skill to make adjustments and settings; skill in using basic automotive tools; ability to read and interpret parts manuals and manufacturer's repair manuals. Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of golf course operations, including activities, rules and procedures. Must be physically able to frequently life, handle and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally, with assistance, objects weighing up to and over 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must have a valid drivers license. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI).
