The Wage and Hour Division (WHD) is an essential labor law enforcement agency responsible for enforcing significant labor laws affecting nearly 150 million workers. Our mission is to protect rights related to minimum wage, overtime, child labor, family and medical leave, employment conditions for migrant workers, lie detector tests, garnishments, prevailing wages on government-funded contracts, labor provisions of several guest worker programs, and more.

Duties

Bilingual - Spanish and English language fluency is REQUIRED. You will be interviewed in both Spanish and English and you may be required to read/write and/or translate documents from Spanish to English and vice versa. Further consideration will not be given if you fail to demonstrate fluency in both English and Spanish. This is a developmental position. The career ladder progression is GS-07/8/9. In the developmental grade levels, the employee will carry out a variety of assignments as a continuation of their training and development, with duties being performed under closer than normal supervision. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex in preparation to fully perform the duties at the full performance level (GS-09).
