This position is part of Office of the Secretary of Interior, Interior Business Center (IBC), Human Resources Division (HRD) Payroll Operations Division (POD), Review and Analysis Branch (RAB) that provides payroll, payroll accounting, and tax accounting services to client agencies.
Duties
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Review and Analysis Branch ensuring correspondence is grammatically correct and properly formatted before dissemination using office automation software.
Serves as the Records Manager for the Branch.
Screens all telephone calls and visitors for the Branch.
Serves as the Branch's primary timekeeper.
Reconciles and completes system input of all check deposits into the U.S. Treasury system ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Qualifications
At the GS-06 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: experience answering incoming telephone inquiries and visitors; composing, proofreading and editing correspondence ensuring correspondence contains correct format, grammar, spelling and punctuation; maintaining office files and filing systems; utilize knowledge of office automation systems software such as Microsoft Word and Excel; maintain various logs and reports; and ordering supplies.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).This position requires 40 words per minute typing ability.A written test is not required. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
