Duties
Collects fees and operates a busy visitor center or information station to provide visitor information and orientation to the park. Conducts compliance checks of park users to ensure proper payment of fees. Prepares remittance reports and deposits. Performs duties associated with recreation.gov, the national campground reservation system. Performs a variety of technically challenging duties associated with the collection, deposit, and tracking of fee revenue and donations collected from the public. Research technically challenging fee collection problems or errors. Troubleshoots technically challenging issues with fee program related technologies and equipment that include hardware, software, and peripheral devices such as hand-held devices, computers, point-of-sale (POS) equipment, tablets, mobile phones, scanning devices, automated fee machines (AFM's), and reservation systems that include but are not limited to Recreation.gov. Performs occasional on-site roving interpretation.

To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing fee collection, accounting or financial duties to include operating a point-of-sale system; performing recurring or standardized accounting transactions such as remittances and bank deposits in automated financial systems; ensuring accountability of funds and accurate financial record; or resolving software issues that arise in the remittance and/or fee collection process. You must include hours per week worked on your resume.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
