About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun. Recruitment or Relocation incentive may be authorized.

Duties

Extract data from digital sources to compile information for incident evaluation. Coordinate data recover support for Agency-wide customer base. Sustain software systems for the organization. Develop accident reconstruction documents for an organization, such as amination, transcripts, and technical reports. Maintain accident investigation data for the Agency.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be available for deployment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) applying principles of accident investigation within an organization; 2) assisting in the identification of accident causes through experience with a variety of aircraft, aircraft systems, components functions, and operations; 3) using office automation to extract mishap safety data by creating formulas and functions using programs such as MS Excel; and 4) producing complex safety products from digital data and information while maintaining multiple deadlines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
