The Delegated Examining Unit (DEU) is seeking a Personnel Psychologist to serve as an expert in job analysis and assessment development to assist NIH in hiring talent. The DEU oversees all delegated examining hiring for NIH and provides expertise in staffing and recruitment issues in the areas of delegated examining, direct-hire, and applicant assessment.
Duties
As a Personnel Psychologist working within the Delegated Examining Unit, you will:
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

- Position requires successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelors degree with a major or equivalent in Psychology.

Qualifications
To qualify for a position as a Personnel Psychologist in the GS-180 series, you must: Have successfully completed a 4 year course of study leading to a Bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent in Psychology.
In Addition, in order to qualify for a Personnel Psychologist, GS-180, at the GS-11 level, you must:
Demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: analyzing position data to determine the importance of job tasks or competencies; developing occupational questionnaires based on job analysis data; and recommending the appropriate assessment tools for measuring applicant competencies OR
Have completed three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, or have completed the requirements for a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related field. OR
Have a combination of post baccalaureate education in Industrial/Organizational Psychology beyond two years and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
In Addition, in order to qualify for a Personnel Psychologist, GS-180, at the GS-12 level, you must::
Demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: conducting analysis on position data using standard statistical methods; developing an assessment crediting plan for rating and ranking job applicants; and preparing content for job analysis workshops or training materials.
You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
