Duties
You will operate standard office equipment (e.g., telephone, scanner, fax, photocopier, electric typewriter) to complete routine clerical assignments.
You will respond to inquiries and requests for assistance on administrative issues.
You will maintain documents in electronic files for easy retrieval.
You will create, prepare, and proofread official correspondence applying the Navy Correspondence manual guidelines.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires the service of a qualified typist (typing speed of at least 45 words-per-minute). Your resume must acknowledge your typing speed.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to requests for information; 2) Preparing documents and correspondence using correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and formatting; and 3) Using two or more types of software, e.g., word processing and timekeeping management, to create different types of documents, tables, and reports.

Education
Successful completion of at least 4 years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
