About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate for Mental Health, Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC. The purpose is to provide receptionist, administrative, and technical services to support the over all mission of the directorate. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Directing patients and visitors. Answering routine inquiries. Creating and modifying providers' schedules. Retrieving patient records. Collecting, tracking, and entering staff utilization data. Completing third party referral paperwork. Performing receptionist and clerical duties. Tracking referrals.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience working in an inpatient or outpatient treatment ward or clinic in a medical or dental treatment facility performing work such as; receptionist, record keeping, clerical, and administrative support functions that provided knowledge of clinical procedures involving patient care and included duties such as receiving patients, scheduling appointments, maintaining charts, files or records; providing information to patients, professional medical staff, and the general public while utilizing personal computer and office automation software programs. Education: Successful completion of four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
