You will serve as an ELECTRONICS ENGINEER in F/A-18 A/V E-G Support Equipment (SE) branch, PEO (T) PSE division in the Support Equipment Department, SE & ALRE Group of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will develop engineering objectives for design development programs and policies for utilization by program managers. You will develop project planning objectives to ensure agency mission and operational needs are met. You will design and manage complex engineering projects over the system life cycle. You will analyze customer needs in order to determine level and types of electronics or related engineering support required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional (ELECTRONICS ENGINEER) performing duties such as: 1) Interpreting program objectives to determine specific and measurable engineering goals, procedures, and project milestones in order to complete work according to technical requirements, budget restrictions, and project schedules; 2) Providing avionic/electrical matters related to the design, development, analysis, testing, and fielding procedures of support equipment; 3) Analyzing the life-cycle which includes development and design of operational characteristics and features of specialized equipment relative to Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment and aircraft systems: 4) Providing technical information to senior colleagues and/or agency officials relating to specialty programs such as aircraft launch and recovery equipment or support equipment for aircraft; 5) Settling matters involving controversial issues to aircraft equipment and shipboard systems; 6) Conducting extensive investigations and analysis of advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods practiced in the science of professional electronics engineering to determine the nature of the problems to devise a solution. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
