The position is located within the Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH) organization. The position may be assigned to a geographical location under the purview of the Office of Investigations & Professional Responsibility (AXI). The mission of ASH is to ensure aviation safety, support national security, and promote an efficient airspace system through the development and administration of policies and programs.
Duties
Serves as the Deputy Director to the Executive Director, Office of Investigations and Professional Responsibility, (AXI). The incumbent is responsible, through subordinate supervisors, for the day-to-day direction and supervision of operations within the Office of Defensive and Technical Operations. Provides executive direction, leadership, and oversight in the regulation and oversight of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) programs including: Advanced Threat Analysis and Mitigation Division consisting of Defensive counterintelligence (DCIP), Insider Threat Detection & Mitigation (ITDMP), and International Travel Security (ITSP) programs, and the Technical Investigations Division consisting of the e-Discovery program, and Cyber Forensics Investigations.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience developing or implementing Counterintelligence and/or Insider Threat programs to include, developing, or recommending relevant policies or procedures. Experience conducting complex investigations and/or inquiries, providing strategic program guidance, and applying laws, rules, and regulations related to Counterintelligence and/or Insider Threat investigations. Experience collaborating with multi-level national and government partner organizations on national security matters; providing operational and strategic leadership within an organization that is geographically dispersed; and providing support to internal and external customers to meet program goals and objectives.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Please ensure you answer all questions and follow all instructions carefully.
