This position is the Nurse-Ambulatory Care at the Wewoka Indian Health Center. Evaluates the needs of patients, develops a plan of nursing care, initiates patient care assignments, implementing and modifying them as needs change, provides or directs the provision of comprehensive nursing care, delegating duties to appropriate personnel, guiding and directing the work as needed, participates in the evaluation of the quality of patient care.
Position reports to Chief Nurse Executive.
Duties
Assesses patient care needs and adjusts staff assignments
Ensures adequate resources/supplies are available throughout the clinic
Reports periodically on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and training needs
Collect and interpret data from the patient's history and physical assessment of patients clinical condition
Provides patient and family education including counseling and assisting the patient/family to understand care, diagnosis and treatment
Participates in the development, updating and evaluating of standards of care and quality improvement monitoring
Qualifications

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Must submit copy of transcript. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
AND
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, you must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Must submit copy of nursing license that includes an expiration date. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Specialized Experience includes: performing comprehensive clinical assessment skills in the adult population and chronic disease management in addition to serving as a consistent member of a multidisciplinary team whose purpose is to conduct care coordination for patients. Oversee patient flow, assisting with staffing schedules, quality improvement activities, and communicating effectively in a multidisciplinary team, extracting or compiling data related to access to care and customer satisfaction.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
