About the position: This position will be assigned to the Shaw Lanes Bowling Center Shaw AFB, SC.

Duties

Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility; collects and removes trash; and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned. Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary, and performs periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Maintains stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems. Qualifying Experience: Have experience or training in the maintenance of bowling lanes and experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Be able to follow oral and written instructions. Be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
