The incumbent serves as Program Support Assistant to the VA/DOD Sharing Agreement and functions with broad oversight of VA Services. The position is located on Fort Carson, CO within the Colorado Military Health System (CMHS) market office. The incumbent performs a variety of duties in a constantly evolving, complex, and diverse health care system which provides services across a vast geographic catchment area.

Duties

Major duties include but are not limited to: Planning, coordinating, and executing business functions, resources allocation, and resources production. Assisting in the areas of day-to-day operations and program planning/evaluation to assist staff with understanding and following processes, regulations, and services policies for the overall Veteran's Health Programs. Tracking data registries to ensure all service goals and objectives are being accomplished and performance measures are being met. Applying clerical skills, computer knowledge, office management skills, prioritization skills, eligibility regulations, Veteran's health processes, and interpersonal skills to office duties. Collecting data and evaluating mechanisms related to performance improvement initiatives for veteran's health throughout the VA-DOD resource sharing agreement. Functioning as the control point clerk for Integrated Veteran Care processing all requests for education materials, supplies, medical equipment, and other items as needed. Distributing of all incoming correspondence and ensures timely follow-up. Implementing strategies to increase performance measure compliance through result tracking, reminder system and process facilitation with all service lines. Planning, scheduling, and coordinating with internal and external customers outreach events to honor, support, and educate Veterans and the community of service of Veterans. Reviewing standard and existing practices to assess the quality, quantity, and timeliness of work produced and make appropriate recommendations. Applying innovative solutions to make organizational improvements; designing and implementing new or cutting-edge programs/processes. Ensuring administrative coordination processes are in place to maintain current health care needs of Veterans. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/06/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience for the GS-07 grade: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. Typically, the position sits to do work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items (such as books and papers), accessing transportation, and/or driving a government vehicle. The work requires patience and control of emotions.
