About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation, Air Force Academy, Colorado.

Duties
Serves as principal buyer for a recreational retail/rental store.
Attends retail shows and selects new merchandise.
Selects and markets recreational merchandise, i.e., the set-up and maintenance of displays, arranging stock neatly, according to size, color, vendor, etc., and rotates stock.
Answers customer questions and provides information on the various types of recreational retail/rental equipment stocked (i.e. clothing, goggles, gloves, skis, tents, etc.). Assists in coordinating publicity for store merchandise and sales events with the Marketing Office.
Processes purchase orders and blanket purchase agreements (BPA 's) for retail/rental items using the automated POS system.
Maintains inventory of all retail merchandise.
Serves as POS technical coordinator for the Outdoor Recreation Center, providing assistance to users, and serving as primary point of contact with the contractor.
Provides recommendations to supervisor on hardware and software utilization and participates in installation. Provides guidance and training to cashiers on all retail merchandise.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience in retail sales which has provided a technical knowledge of buying, pricing, and
managing inventory.
Must have experience in outdoor recreation retail merchandise, equipment, displays, activities, and equipment uses.
Applicant must have experience with marketing principles and techniques.
Applicant must have progressively responsible computer experience.
Applicant must have good interpersonal and organizational skills.
A valid driver's license is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
