This position is located in the Office of Investigations (OI), headquarters, Rockville, MD, or at one of the field offices in King of Prussia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Lisle, IL or Arlington, TX, and is supervised by Jerry Prichard, Deputy Director, OI. Position requires up to 50% travel. This position is Non-Bargaining Unit. Expenses associated with relocation may be paid. This position is subject to confidential financial disclosure reporting requirements.
Duties
If selected for this position, you will serve as primary technical advisor to the Director, Office of Investigations (OI), in OI investigative activity across the organization. You will serve as a senior technical advisor to OI staff, having a specialty in the development, use, and analysis of technical information over a broad range on sensitive and complex investigations for use in agency enforcement actions and/or criminal prosecutions. Responsibilities of this position include developing, coordinating, and integrating agency-wide activities associated with investigation programs. Function as the office technical expert and provides authoritative advice, guidance, and consultation in the areas of (a) agency enforcement, (b) regulatory compliance, (c) allegation program, (d) policy/program issues, and (e) all investigation associated technical matters. Independently develops input to the OI Director, Deputy, and staff to ensure operations are consistent with civil and criminal guidelines and address risks to the performance of essential OI mission activities. Serve as OI’s interface with internal technical staff and external entities, both government and industry, relating to the technical aspects of investigation activities.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower (GG-14) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as demonstrated thorough knowledge of power reactor construction/operation and radioactive materials principles/applications sufficient to advise executive managers regarding criminal investigations as they relate to the nuclear regulatory and investigative process.

Education
Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the principles, theories, and practices of nuclear engineering and reactor physics. In addition to training and experience, generally, these knowledge requirements are met by having a bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant professional engineering discipline (e.g., nuclear, electrical, mechanical, metallurgical, structural, chemical) from a school of engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
