Job opening: Utility Systems Repairer-Operator Supervisor (Energy Center Supervisor)

The position is located in the Facility Management Service, The incumbent is responsible for all work and personnel in the energy center. The plant is a 24 hour per day operation, which provides vital utility service to the medical center. The incumbent supervises and is responsible for the coordination and accomplishment of all activities of steam production within the energy center.
Duties
Providing direct supervision of ten employees
Responsible for the operational planning and coordination of the Energy Center
Responsible for the installation of controls for boilers and chillers
Responsible for the repair of Energy Center Equipment using maintenance manuals and diagrams
Serving as a Contracting Officer Representative
Planning and scheduling training in all aspects of Boiler Plant maintenance and safety
Determining priorities to insure all critical/non-critical works gets done in a timely manner
Ensuring completion of all preventive maintenance work orders within established timeframes
Consulting with engineering for technical advice for new construction projects
Responsible for the installation of pumps for circulating water
Overseeing the repair and rebuilding of valves and controls for boilers, chiller, and pumps
Overseeing the repair of Energy Center Equipment by fabrication of pipes, hoses, and metal
Overseeing the repair of Energy Center Equipment by ordering the correct parts
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The work requires periods of walking, climbing, and inspections of ramped spaces. At times incumbent is exposed to high places and scaffolding; works at times in "hard hat" areas. Incumbent works inside, outside or both and in enclosed or high quarters/ May be required to work on ladders, scaffold, wet, greasy, dirty, hot, cold, and hazardous areas.
