This position is located in Pecos National Historical Park 2 miles south of the village of Pecos, New Mexico. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately the end of December to the beginning of January, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year (December 24 to January 20).

Duties

This position provides Masonry stabilization, preservation, and other related repair work independently or with other crew members which include the follow responsibilities:. Removal of damaged wall sections, fixing floors, and maintaining architectural features by select replacement done and mortar. Replicate original architectural styles, improve drainage in rooms, and handle various preservation tasks, such as roof replacement and weed removal. Prepare mortar with precise proportions of sand, soil, and additives, apply preservatives chemicals to stone and wood.
