These positions are located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision: 1 position in Baton Rouge, LA or Shreveport, LA; 1 position in Knoxville, TN or Nashville, TN and 1 position in Dallas, TX of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and will be assisting, conducting, supervising, and directing examinations of insured depository institutions. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for the CG-13, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience examining a financial institution’s safety, soundness, and risk posed to the Deposit Insurance Fund. Candidates must be a Commissioned Risk Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commission criteria used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision. To qualify for the CG-14, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the candidate with the knowledge, skills and ability to perform examinations of the largest and most complex insured depository institutions, to conduct special investigations or examinations of non insured operating institutions or newly organized institutions applying for depository insurance and/or institutions contemplating merger, consolidation and similar activities, and to serve as Examiner-in-Charge. Candidates must be a Commissioned Risk Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commission criteria used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
