Duties
Plans, directs, and coordinates development of enterprise-wide policy, guidance, products, and services related to a diverse array of Army protection programs.
Serves as the first line supervisor of employees engaged in Army Protection Program work.
Provides technical advice and assistance to HQDA, higher headquarters, federal, state, and local agencies, and installation / activity commanders in the areas of protection program management, risk management, and planning.
Reviews existing security programs to determine their effectiveness in achieving protection program goals; ensures conformance with established procedures and standards; and proactively identifies complex program issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- The Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program requires incumbent obtain SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 24 months of entrance on duty (EOD).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to review, analyze, and resolve security problems; 2) Developing security policies and regulations used to guide implementation of security programs; and 3) Applying knowledge of protection programs and general security administration sufficient to provide authoritative advice, guidance and direction to protection and security specialists. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-13.
