You will serve as a AIRCRAFT ATTENDANT (MVO) in the Airfield Services Division NAVSTA.

Duties

You will use incoming aircraft guides (e.g., follow me vehicles, paddles, night wands, hand and arm signals) to safely park aircraft. You will provide technical support and operational assistance during aircraft servicing. You will inspect and service all types of transient aircraft with correct fuel, oil, high or low pressure oxygen, hydraulics, or nitrogen. You will function as observer during final operational checks prior to take off, and perform as a aircraft handler or safety observer during aircraft taxiing. You will operate a diesel-powered sweeper to clear the airfield of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) at two airfields.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You may be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
