You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the Torpedo Production Branch of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. As the Heavy Weight Torpedo Production Branch Head you will perform management and monitoring functions for the branch. This includes providing leadership and coordination to new hardware integration system level troubleshooting and new design initiatives.
Duties
You will apply a wide variety of techniques, work methods, or procedures to provide comprehensive management advisory and technical services on substantive functions and practices.
You will define, organize, and assign activities to accomplish projects/program issues.
You will interpret regulations or policy to apply new methods to solve unprecedented problems.
You will provide expert technical leadership applicable to electro-mechanical hardware, e.g. heavyweight or lightweight torpedoes.
You will coordinate new hardware integration, complex system level troubleshooting, and new design initiatives.
You will lead and participate on project teams and interface with others internal and external to the organization.
You will review and approve management reports or contractual documents for external distribution.
You will interface with the customer and coordinate efforts ensuring customer requirements are met.
You will perform supervisory duties that include outlining overall objectives with available resources to discuss projects and timeframes with the employee.
You will determine the parameters of the employee's responsibilities and review work to ensure effectiveness in producing results and adherence to requirements.
Requirements
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Explosive Safety Qualification/Certification.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band (NT-04 or GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering advice and guidance to others that resolve issues related to weapons systems or Naval ordnance technical engineering services/operations.
