This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PILOT (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0640000 and is part of the FL AASF 2, National Guard.

Duties

As a AIRCRAFT PILOT (TITLE 32), GS-2181-12, you will pilot a variety of fixed wing twin engine airplanes and utility helicopters to transport passengers and cargo to and from a variety of points; operate aircraft with short takeoff and landing capability, generally in good or fair weather conditions, but may include all types of weather, day and night over terrain such as forests, marshlands, mountain ranges, and open seas; fly too modern airports with paved runways, with navigational aids, good landing facilities and some unimproved or tactical landing pads and strips; participate in all-weather search and rescue operations as required; serve as a member of boards pertaining to aviation accidents, flight evaluation, collateral investigations, standardization and federal recognition; perform maintenance operation checks (MOCs) and limited and general test flights of aircraft to ensure airworthiness upon completion of extensive disassembly for maintenance, repair or replacement of components or aircraft systems; perform general or limited test flights of aircraft when ground diagnostic tests cannot determine the safe and/or proper functioning of aircraft components or systems; perform acceptance test flights of new aircraft when required.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 87 and the President is Mr. Michael Ortmayer at [email protected] or (904) 573-2300 ext 1023 NOTE: CERTIFICATIONS/DA FORM 759 MUST BE UPLOADED WITH APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED MILITARY GRADES: Officer: O3 thru O4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must be a rated rotary wing pilot on flying status; proficient in the unit-assigned aircraft (UH-60), possess the flying time established by gaining command criteria, and the certificates and ratings required for the position; have experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of the principles of organization, management, and administration of ARNG aviation activities. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Must have at least 24 months military flying experience under varying flying conditions and exercises; have 250 or more logged flying hours in the UH-60, aircraft; have at least 50 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PC); experience that required knowledge of flying safety regulations, practices, procedures, and submission of safety reports; experience flying aircraft when there was a specific objective involved; experienced in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information; experienced in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings; experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments; experienced in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operations or surveillance and reconnaissance; competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks; experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders; knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures; experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, regulations, and directives.
