As the Administrative Support Assistant (OA) of the Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) at the Miami VA Healthcare System and it's outpatient clinics, the incumbent will serve as a point of contact for customers, both internal and external, that require prosthetic services either face-to-face or by telephone.
Duties
As a Program Support Assistant you will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Provides administrative support to the Prosthetic Clinics & Committees such as Amputee Clinic, Wheelchair Seating Clinic, Home Respiratory Care Program, HISA Committee.
Participates in performance improvement activities for the service and may be called upon to be a part of Rapid Improvement Workshop or LEAN activities.
Develops management plans and designs PSAS programs to include estimates of personnel, equipment, space and budgetary needs.
Deals with varied technical and administrative problems and concerns.
Assists with established methods, making significant efforts to develop more efficient processes related to procurement, data collection and analysis.
Arranges training for team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects.
Maintains the Chief/Assistant Chief calendars and makes appointment/arrangements for meetings, conferences, trainings etc.
Records minutes during PSAS meetings and prepares a final form for signature and distribution to Chief/ Assistant Chief.
Maintains records and assists with equipment turn-in.
Enters electronic work orders and requisitions as needed.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/05/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Performing clerical duties related to patient care and treatment such as coordinating or recording patient activities; providing administrative support to multiple services; participating in performance improvement activities.

Physical Requirements: ???????The work of the incumbent is primarily sedentary. There is some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items. May require occasional travel.
