The Program Support Assistant (OA) (PSA) performs various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Social Work (SW) Service Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). The incumbent will perform ADPAC (Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator) duties for PACT.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Make copies, collate, and/or bind materials. Verify information on forms. Maintain security or confidentiality of records, equipment, or computer access. Maintain personal and staff calendars or schedules. Receive and distribute mail and delivers messages or documents. Coordinate and submit requests for supplies and equipment. Establish, maintain, purge, and dispose of files and records in accordance with established regulations and procedures. Update and maintain time and attendance reports in accordance with established procedures. Search files, documents or other sources for information. Process incoming forms, records, or other documents. Review content of letters, e-mails, or other documents for completeness, correctness, consistency, spelling or typographical errors. Assist in maintaining fund control points for programs. Greet and assist in person visitors and telephone callers. Screen telephone calls (decides to whom the caller should be referred) and assist caller as appropriate. Explain basic policies or procedures and provide guidance when necessary. Monitor and follow up on suspenses. Train other Program Support Assistants in the Service. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/10/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting the experience requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test. 40 words per minute typing speed You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Prepare a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring reports, correspondence and other documents; Review and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives; Receive telephone calls, greet visitors, and ascertain the nature of the calls or visits; Perform other administrative and clerical work in support of the office; Use word processing software, and spreadsheet software to execute several office automation functions and graphical display of data. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Technology Application Financial Management Customer Service Quality Assurance Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require movement between offices, hospitals, warehouses, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking/standing, in conjunctions with travel to and attendance at meetings and/or conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry and lift light items weighing less than 15 pounds.
