You will serve as a PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Department of Psychiatry (PSY) of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

Duties

You will gather all products created by students and disseminate to faculty for grading; collet all completed materials from faculty and provide to course and/or module director. You will provide support to the department by communicating and providing guidance to the faculty and students, secure faculty presenters and facilitators, reserve facilities, and disseminate materials. You will prepare the agenda and schedules meetings involving department leadership, personnel and partners. You will compose, type and forward letters to civilian applicants requesting references; and letters of approval that must be requested from the Commanding Officer for each military-member applicant. You will contact applicants and request required information not included in their package. You will serve as a point of contact for applicant inquires relative to the status of their applications. You will handle logistics of applicant interview visits including travel, scheduling and coordinating appointments for interviews at various Department sites, including time and location. You will format and edit requirements for the production of correspondence and lengthy documents that require familiarity with scientific and medical terminology. You will using Microsoft Office, prepare correspondence, program and class schedules, protocols, abstracts, memoranda, manuscripts, reports. You will ensure correct punctuation, capitalizations, spelling, grammar, and conformance to style. You will compile data, review for accuracy, and prepare reports, such as internal control reports used to review status, determine curriculum changes, evaluations. You will maintain Department records and files, including records and logs showing the status of actions and correspondence. You will place orders for authorize supplies and authorize and certify Time and Attendance Reports, audio/visual requests, duplicating requests, and various work order requests from faculty and staff.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating educational activities to monitor student progress, evaluate data, and determine solutions to administrative problems within an education program. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing educational data or reports to provide recommendations and improve administrative processes within an education program. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Educational Substitution for the GS-09: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such aa degree, OR LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled OR a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

Educational Substitution for the GS-07: Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement must be related to the position being filled OR a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
