You will serve as a STUDENT SUPPORT ASSISTANT (MILITARY/OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the RECRUITING UNIT.

Duties

You will have experience or knowledge of Military Command Pay and Personnel Administrator related duties. You will review awards and directives, maintaining electronic and paper files/records as well as other human resources related administrative duties. You will be familiar with using various military personnel databases such as NSIPS, FLTMPS, Salesforce as well as Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). You will have experience and knowledge in preparing, typing, routing, and filing military correspondence/reports, creating rosters, mail handling, facilitating customer service calls.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing administrative work in an office environment; 2) Utilizing office automation software to format documents and data; and 3) Maintaining and updating files based on policies and directives. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.1) Performing administrative work in an office environment; 2) Utilizing office automation software to format documents and data; and 3) Maintaining and updating files based on policies and directives. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of four years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
