This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Critical Hires to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers is comprised of motivated and talented employees providing the very best engineering services for communities in the Pacific Northwest.

Duties

This position is responsible for administrative, acquisition, cataloging and technical processing, and property accountability services for Walla Walla District Library. Uses Web, electronic databases and other print and automated resources to locate bibliographic, product and vendor information; places all orders for library requirements. Places orders with contractors, jobbers, publishers, document delivery sources, and other vendors, citing appropriate fund account. Serves as the Library government purchase card holder, placing orders of up to $3000 each; maintains all documentation of purchases and reconciles monthly statements. Performs cataloging and technical processing of materials. Searches the Online Catalog Library Computer database for existing catalog records for new library materials of many types and formats including print and electronic books, AV materials, technical reports, standards and other document types. Maintains voucher and receipt register of all received and withdrawn materials, indicating vendor name, date, requisition, debit, or credit, etc. Serves as the unit’s primary timekeeper and records manager.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or expereince requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes inputting, updating, and retrieving data within the library's cataloging system and other electronic databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One year and a half of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Library and Information Studies. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
